Performance Enhancements in View 5.2

View 5.2 became generally available today, and we wanted to take this opportunity to present a high-level overview of some of the performance enhancements that debut with View 5.2 and PCoIP. In this release, PCoIP’s image cache has been significantly improved to allow users on memory constrained devices to run with much smaller cache sizes; firstly, support was introduced to efficiently handle situations where image content is shifted vertically, as occurs during scroll operations. Secondly, View 5.2 debuts improved cache compression... [Lire la suite]

Download VMware Network Virtualization Design Guide

I am happy to announce the availability of the VMware Network Virtualization Design Guide. This guide provides an overview of the key attributes of network virtualization technology. Then the paper discusses different components of VMware’s Network virtualization solution and explains VXLAN in detail. Finally, the design considerations section discusses couple of real life deployments and provides guidelines on how to prepare VXLAN fabric. On top of this VXLAN fabric, customers can now create and delete logical Layer 2 networks... [Lire la suite]

VMware NSX Network Virtualization

Networking is stuck in the past It wasn’t that long ago when provisioning server resources for an application was manual, time consuming, hardware dependent, error prone, and grossly inefficient.  As with many computer science problems, the solution to this inefficiency was automation through softwareabstraction – enabled by server virtualization.  The release of VMware ESX paved the way for enterprises to rapidly deploy any application on any server, non-disruptively, by enabling the fundamental abstraction...
