For VMware Horizon View it is recommends that you configure your VMware View Horizon Servers with a signed SSL certificate. Default when you install a VMware View Horizon servers, a certificate is generated that is not signed by a CA. Because it is not signed by a CA It is possible to to intercept traffic. Microsoft made available another update of a fix which improves cluster resiliency. I lost count now but believe this is the fourth try of Microsoft to fix a number of issues which are storage related. One of the readers of my blog applied this latest hotfix KB2848344 and wrote me: I’ve applied this fix on 2 nodes in a two node HV failover cluster. I sincerely hope this saves somebody else some time because I had a fair amount of head scratching with this today. Installed a Windows Server 2012 VM on vSphere 5.0 U2, pretty standard install with a C:\ drive for OS, Software etc and D:\ for data. This particular server needed to run SQL Server 2012, however the install kept repeatedly failing with the error “Could not find the Database Engine startup handle”.
