Yes, we’ve heard your feedback and the Exchange Deployment Assistant for Exchange Server 2013 is on the way! We want to let you know that we’re working, right now, on the Exchange Server 2013 Deployment Assistant. It will be very similar to the current Exchange Server 2010 Deployment Assistant. We expect to release initial scenarios like a greenfield Exchange 2013 on-premises... [Lire la suite]

Managing High Availability with the EAC

You may have seen the introduction to the new Exchange Administration Center (EAC). The EAC is a unified Web-based portal for both on-premises and online Exchange deployments. With EAC, the HA management tools are put together with a new modern look and feel. Managing Exchange HA involves different operations like database switchovers, server switchovers, adding database copies, reseeding,... [Lire la suite]

Exchange 2013 Server Roles Installation Order – Mailbox First

The Microsoft recommendation regarding the order in which the Exchange 2013 server roles should be introduced into a forest is the reverse of Exchange 2010. Mailbox role first & it does make sense. Why?   In the Exchange 2010 world, the order of installation was CAS, Hub & Mailbox, whereas in 2013, it is Mailbox first & then CAS. Why is it different in 2013? --> Please see the rest on the blog : http://www.howexchangeworks.com/2012/10/exchange-2013-server-roles-installation-order-mailbox-first.html

Client Protocol Architecture In Exchange 2013 : WHERE IS MY HUB ?

Exchange 2013 has only two roles and the protocols handled by the roles are different to the ones in 2010.   In 2013, all types of clients connect to the CAS role. Rather than explaining all the types of access, the below slide from the recent TechEd session by Scott Schnoll shows the client protocol architecture in Exchange 2013. Clearly, a picture is worth a thousand words --> No more Hub, No more UC, things will be eased for deployments... please see the blog... [Lire la suite]

“The System Cannot Find The File Specified” – Error On Step 1 Of Exchange 2013 Setup

A number of Exchange guys are posting in various forums about this error message that appears very early in the Exchange 2013 setup process. The solution is really simple.   The issue is brought to light when you get the error message below during step one of the 2013 installation on Windows 2012. Error: The following error was generated when “$error.Clear(); install-ExchangeSchema -LdapFileName ($roleInstallPath + “Setup\Data\”+$RoleSchemaPrefix + “schema0.ldf”) ” was run: “The system cannot find the file specified”.
