vSphere Data Protection (VDP) Version 5.1.10 is Generally Available

VMware vSphere Data Protection (VDP) is a backup and recovery solution that was introduced with vSphere 5.1. VDP Advanced Error – Unable to register the Backup Agent service

While installing the SQL Server agent for VDP Advanced, I ran into an error: RegisterAgent: Unable to register the Backup Agent service. My first thought was permissions, --> please see the rest on the blog : http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2013/04/vdpa-unable-to-register-backup-agent-service.html

vSphere Data Protection (VDP) – install, configure, manage

vSphere Data protection – a quick guide how to deploy and use vSphere Data Protection is a new backup product, which does not bring an additional cost, but it’s included in vSphere Essentials Plus and higher VMware vSphere package. The product is based on EMC’s Avamar code and present an interesting upgrade for existing customers which are upgrading from vSphere 4.x where vSphere Data Protection (VDP) was bundled.
