VMware : Dell MD3200/MD1200 6Gb/sec Shared SAS performance tests

We recently acquired a Dell MD3200 and MD1200 6Gb/sec shared SAS storage system and I have spent a couple of days setting up some tests to see how it compares to our old iSCSI EMC Clariion. Wasn't really a fair fight, given that the EMC had 500GB 7200rpm...

VM Start-up script

ack in Jan 2010 I wrote a script which shut down the virtual infrastructure, this was used to ensure your VMs were shut down and then your hosts were shut down in an orderly manner, ideal for things like UPS shutdown scripts etc. A slight spin on that...

Why can you not use NIC Teaming with iSCSI Binding?

I had an interesting discussion recently with a number of my colleagues around the requirement to place additional uplinks (vmnics) on a virtual switch that are not used by iSCSI binding into the 'Unused' state. One would think that it might be useful...

Petite note personnelle : VCP 5 OK!

Bonsoir, Juste une petite note pour annoncer que j'ai passé cet après midi la certification VCP 5 avec succès! Pas facile encore cette certification, mais à coeur vaillant... J'espère que j'aurai de nouveau droit à une licence VMware Workstation ;)
